iConsentu has been developed collaboratively by Leeds University, Medico-Legal advisors and by Doctors and Dentists in NHS, Private and Hospital practice. The aim is to ensure patients receive the most up to date treatment information in a manner that they can readily digest and fully understand to allow them to give valid informed consent. The application has been designed to test patients’ understanding of each procedure, using simple animation followed by a question and answer stage, allowing treatment to proceed in confidence.
iConsentu Enhanced Informed Consent makes sure patients understand the risks and benefits of treatment, helping prevent expensive and stressful actions in the event of any adverse outcomes.
iConsentu gives you full access to regularly updated, industry standard consent forms that have been approved by Dento-Legal advisors. You can also upload and use your own consent forms if you prefer.
iConsentu uses cloud based technologies giving you 24/7 access to all your consent forms from anywhere in the world and our secure data storage means you can retrieve information anywhere and at any time with internet enabled devices.
Once you complete your registration;
We will need approximately one working day to verify your registration details after which you will be granted full access to the consent app.
The consent process is best completed using a tablet which you can give to your patients when they attend the dental practice. You can use or purchase your own tablet and the ideal specs for this can be found here. Alternatively, we can provide you with a tablet for an additional fee.
Once you have your tablet and are ready to get started – simply go to wwww.iconsentu.co.uk and enter your login details.
You will need to set up your profile and be sure to include all the dental practices you work in.
We have industry standard consent forms which are ready to go, but if you prefer, you can upload your own.
When your patient comes into your practice for a treatment, they will watch the video animation linked to a specific treatment, take a quiz, take a photo and sign the consent form.
You will then review the patient’s answers to the quiz and all the details provided in the consent form.
No more messy consent forms, pens or paper.
